Nicola left the home she shared with Alexander in April 2004, returning to stay at her parents home, with her 18 month old son Taylor, whom Alexander was the father of.

Following the break-up Alexander proceeded to stalk Nicola, at Glenrothes College where she was studying to be a nurse, and at Dunfermline's Queen Margaret Hospital, where she had a work placement. He also repeatedly pestered her by making calls to her mobile telephone.

Nicola had in fact been to a lawyer in the weeks before she was killed, to have an interdict raised against Alexander. Sadly, the interdict was never granted.

If our campaign is successful, interdicts will be issued without delay when a persons safety is considered to be at risk.
